It is hard to believe, but our miracle great grandbaby Amelia is 1 today. She weighs over 16 pounds. She crawls all over, and likes to stand up to things, and she will be walking soon. She loves to eat anything. I am so thankful that we get to tend her 1 day a week. We love her so much! We got to go to her birthday swimming party. It was fun having half of our grandkids in town for her birthday. The theme was "Sweet Peach". MaKayla had it decorated so cute. She loved her little smash cake. She got a lot of clothes and books. I'm glad we were able to get a 4 generation picture!
Amelia - June 2025
Here are a few pictures of Amelia for June. She is crawling all over and standing up for a few seconds. She likes to watch little kids songs on Youtube. She has a little rhythm going.
Pine Valley/Forsyth Fire - June 19th, 2025
We went camping for 3 days to Dean Gardner campground in Pine Valley. We were supposed to stay another day, but it was so hot that we came home a day early. The only time it cooled off was while we were fishing down by the water... Well, a day after we came home, a large fire started. It started near the Forsyth trail. They say it was from a smoldering lightning strike from a week before. They had to evacuate all the campgrounds, and the local families living there. The fire reached the town and burned down 14 homes. It is 10 days later and they have the town back open to locals only. It is 20% contained. They said they are trying to save the campgrounds and the cabins. We are 45 minutes away and the smoke is pretty thick and we can smell it from here. They have cancelled all camping for the rest of the season.
Yankee Meadows - June 10th, 2025
Today we decided to drive somewhere we hadn't been before. So we went to Yankee Meadows. It is only an hour and a half from our house. The campground was really run down. No one was camped there. But the reservoir is pretty big, and the fishing was great. We only caught 16, but they were a lot bigger than what we usually catch closer to home. We have decided this is a good place to go fishing for a day!
Camping with Scott's Family - May 26-30th, 2025
Scott, Luann, Gwyneth, and Andrea met us in Pine Valley for 4 days. We stayed in the Dean Gardner campground. We had a great time fishing (we caught over 100 fish total between all of us), going on walks, eating good food and playing games. The weather was perfect. They went down to Veyo for some ice, and bought a famous Veyo pie. It was delicious!
Amelia 11 Months Old - May 30th, 2025
Amelia is now 11 months old. She has learned how to crawl. It's more like a walk/crawl. She can say DaDa. She loves to eat all kinds of food. She has a walker and goes all over their new apartment. She still doesn't have any teeth. Her hair is starting to grow a little...She is a very happy and smiley baby. I tend her once a week for 6 hours. She takes good long naps.
