Kodachrome Basin State Park - Day #1 - September 25th, 2026

 We packed up and left Goblin Valley and Drove to Kodachrome Basin State Park. It was a beautiful drive with so many different colors and kinds of formations. Some of the places we drove through reminded me of what the moon might look like. We actually drove through Capitol Reef National Park on the way. I didn't take any pictures because we couldn't stop the truck. The leaves were starting to change color. The campground here is nice, and the weather is in the low 70's. The only downfall is the price of fuel. We are paying $6.79.9 a gallon.... so hundreds of dollars for this trip!

Goblin Valley State Park - Day #2 - September 24th, 2026

 Today we hiked "The Valley of The Goblins". We hiked almost 5 hours. We walked about 5.5 miles wandering around all the amazing formations. There was about an hour that we got "lost" and could not figure out how to get back to where we started. There are so many formations you have to go around. We had to go into a few washes and gullies and over hard to climb hills. There are thousands of Hoodoos. Every shape and size. There are 3 valleys. We never made it to the 3rd one. It is about 3 square miles from starting point to end of valley 3. There are no designated trails, so you just wander wherever you want. We were so worn out when we got back to camp. We showered and relaxed in RV the rest of the day. We took hundreds of photos.

Goblin Valley State Park - Day #1 - Sept. 23rd, 2026

Today we drove 5 hours to Goblin Valley State Park. It is in the middle of nowhere. We stopped in Richfield for ice cream. We set up the trailer in a very quiet and beautiful campground. We drove 2 miles to check out the Valley of the Goblins. It is amazing. We hiked to the Three Sisters formation. It is so peaceful here, and the weather was perfect. 

 

Amelia - 26 Months Old - August 30th, 2026

 Amelia is 26 months old. Here are a few pictures from this month. She likes playing with Mr. Potato Head, playing in the sprinklers, shoveling in the rocks, brushing her teeth, going to the park, but her favorite was playing in a box we had. She has played it in for days. She is starting to say a few sentences. She loves watching the Minions!

Butch Cassidy - August 2026

 When we drove home from Bryce Canyon, we took a detour and went to the boyhood home of Butch Cassidy. It was in a very pretty valley, and was very quiet and peaceful. It was hard to imagine how his life ended. I'm sure it was very tragic for his family . 

Bryce Canyon Car Show - August 22nd, 2026

 We went to Bryce Canyon so Doug could enter his '57 Chevy in the annual Bryce Canyon Fly In and Drive In. There were a lot of vintage airplanes there. They had an airshow. It was cool to watch. There were over 80 classic cars and trucks. Doug received 2 awards. One was the Hal P. Award. They said they chose his car because they loved the color of his car. He got the final big trophy, and it was the Commissioner's Choice Award. He was very shocked to win anything, but especially the big award. He said there were a lot of cars that he thought looked better than his, but the commissioner told him afterward, that he picked Dougs car . Doug realized after he met the commissioner, that he had been by and talked to him a couple times during the car show and was asking a lot of questions about how he restored it all himself. So I'm sure that is why he won. The other cars were beautiful, but most of them were just bought that way and they didn't do the work themselves. I am very proud of him for all the hard work restoring his car. It took him over 600 hours. We travel and go to a few car shows a year. This was one of my favorites. The people were all so friendly, and he enjoyed talking to them and answering their questions about his restoration!
