Hoover Dam - May 3rd, 2026

We checked out of rental house and went to the award ceremony for the car show. Tonya and Kevin left and drove to Oatman to see Donkeys. On our way home, Doug surprised me and we stopped at Hoover Dam. It has been many many, years since we were here, and the whole thing is so different now. Because we were hauling his chevy, we had to park in a far away parking lot, and walk about a mile to get pictures of the dam. It was a steep and hot walk. We didn't go to the visitor center, because it was even farther away. It was almost like going through the border in Mexico to get through security to even park here. I guess that is to keep us all safe!!

Car Show In Kingman, Arizona - May1-2nd, 2026

On Friday we drove to Kingman and met up with Tonya and Kevin. We stayed in a nice rental house. We went to dinner at the Dambar Steakhouse.  On Saturday we entered Doug's 57 Chevy in the car show. It was the 100th anniversary of Route 66. There were over 900 cars entered. A lot of people loved his car. It was fun seeing all the other old cars. After the car show we ate at Cracker Barrel. It was a quick trip, but fun spending time with family!

Amelia - 22 Months Old - April 30th, 2026

Amelia is 22 Months Old. She is starting to talk a lot. She likes to be outside and blow bubbles. She tries to do it herself, but mostly licks the bubble wand. She loves to play with her Grampy Doug. I think he is her favorite. She is always following him around, and bringing him toys. She likes to go for walks. She tries to help with the yardwork. Here are some pictures of her this month.

Tulip Festival - April 21-23 , 2026

For my birthday this year, Doug took me to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah. I have wanted to go for a few years, but we never did. It is 50 acres of flowers. I was a little disappointed because probably 80% were dead or dying. I know it is not their fault. They had over average temperatures a few weeks ago, and so the flowers bloomed early, and then last week there was a hard freeze. They were busy planting new flowers that will hopefully bloom for the rest of the festival. The few patches in the shaded spots were beautiful though! We were supposed to stay and go the Hogle Zoo with Scott's family, but Doug and I both got the flu and came home 2 days early.

Camping in Zions - April 6-9th, 2026

Retirement life is great so far. We just got back from camping in Zion National Park for 4 days. It is so pretty. We avoided the crowds, and rode the shuttles when people left in the afternoons. The weather was beautiful! I was able to walk 1-3 miles at a time each day on the trails. On our walks we saw Turkey, Deer, and lots of Squirrels. Of course we took our picture at the Big tree at the lodge. I have pictures of us there every year since 1990. And some of when our kids were little, and some from when I was little. Maybe someday, I will put them all together and see how much has changed!

Our Shed - April 4th, 2026

We decided to build some shelves and re organize the shed. We needed somewhere to put all the boxes we brought home from work, that I have to keep for 7 years, for taxes, etc. Doug just used old boards, and we already had the brackets, so it didn't cost anything.
