Doug and I went to Zion for a quick weekend getaway. It was beautiful. We've never gone this early in the year. There was still snow on the mountains. We saw some waterfalls in places we hadn't seen before. The shuttles weren't running yet, so we could park wherever we wanted and explore.It was great to be out hiking in the sunshine. The highlight of the weekend for me was going to the art gallery of my favorite (besides Luann, of course) photographer. His name is Michael Fatali. He photographs landscapes and nature in the southwest states.I have loved his photos for years. Every time I go to Zion, I go to his gallery.(He also has one in Sedona, Az) They have moved it right next to the IMAX so it is in a lot better place. His website is: www.fatali.com. You should check out his work. Well... he was actually at the gallery, and we got to meet him in person, and talk to him about his pictures. Doug bought me an early birthday present. It is my favorite picture of his called: "Ocean's Breath" The size I wanted was $4600.00, so I got a special edition 11x14 instead. He is going to sign it for me when we go back in April. I am also in a special drawing for of one of his pictures that he took at the bottom of the grand canyon. They are giving it away on the Sat. we are going to be there. It would look perfect over my fireplace. (I don't know how I got 2 of the same pictures on there of me with Michael Fatali, and I can't figure out how to delete one of them , so after trying forever,I give up!!!)
