Phoenix
We flew to Phoenix for 3 days to celebrate with Tonya and Kevin for Tonya's birthday. I love going in the winter. It was beautiful weather there. The orange trees were loaded down with oranges. We went to a movie, dinner, and then one night we went an hour away to the Glendale "Glitter Glow Block Party" They shuttle you into the downtown district and you walk around all the cute shops, and vendors, and then at dusk they have Hot Air Balloons on all of the streets. Once it is dark they all light them up. It is very pretty to see all the balloons and the whole town all lit up with Christmas still. It was magical! The next day Kevin took us to a local fishing pond and we all caught some (tiny) fish. It was very relaxing, and fun to watch the bird (Green Herron) try to get our fish. It would stand there and never move a muscle until we caught a fish. We gave it one of ours and it also caught one of it's own. We had a yummy roast dinner and pink cupcakes for her birthday dinner. The last night we just hung out at their house and they got us hooked on the series"LOST". We brought the dvd's home and are watching them every chance we get. It was a very fun weekend.
Christmas/New Year's Eve 2009
Here are a few pictures from the holiday. It was fun spending time with our family. For New Year's Eve we spent the weekend at Cable Mtn. Lodge in Zion Canyon. We played lots of games and went hiking and to a movie on the giant screen, and just had fun hanging out in each others suites. Hot chocolate out on the balcony looking at the massive mountain views was the best!!!! Our room had a fireplace and a jacuzzi. It was very cozy. It was very quiet and peaceful. It is the off season so hardly anyone was there.
