Hiking In Zion Canyon - April 21st, 2012

We took 3 grandkids and went to Zion for the day. We had a lot of fun hiking, riding the shuttle, and getting ice cream at the lodge. It is always beautiful there, and we never get tired of seeing it. There is always something different to see and explore.

MaKayla's 17th Birthday - April 14th, 2012

For MaKayla's 17th birthday, we gave her 17 roses. She is our oldest granddaughter. She is a good example for all the rest of our granddaughters. She has grown up to be a beautiful young women. We are very proud of her. It was a school dance that night, so her friend Scott came to town to take her to the dance. We love her very much!

Fishing at The Pond - March 30th, 2012

We took Sam and Ali fishing to the pond by our house. They were having a free fishing derby. They were giving out prizes all day for "the next fish", "biggest fish", and we all had tickets for drawings. They both caught fish, and both got prizes. It was a fun day, and only 5 minutes from home. Mandi was gone with her other grandma, and was a little jealous when they came home with their prizes. We will have to go again next year!

Lillyana was born on March 28th, 2012. She was born 6 weeks early. Her mom had already been in the hospital on bed rest for 2 weeks. The doctors wanted to wait as long as possible to give her lungs a chance to develop, before they started the delivery. A lot of prayers were said, that she would be born healthy. She was born at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah. She weighed 4 lbs. 14 oz. and was 18 " long. Her head was as tiny as a tennis ball.  She was born at 2:07 a.m. She had to be in an incubator for 1 day, and was on oxygen for a little while. They had to feed her through a tube in her nose. She ended being in the NICU for 15 days. It was very hard on her family to leave her at the hospital. They wouldn't let her come home until she could suck from a bottle and keep her milk down. She had to spend her first Easter in the hospital. They let her family come and see her that day. They bought her a little doll dress for her Easter dress, because everything else was too big. It was a very happy day when she finally got to go home with her parents and sisters and brother.
