Easter Weekend - March 30-31st, 2013

We had a busy weekend. We had Brad's kids for a week, so before they headed home we colored Easter Eggs. Our oldest grandson, Alex, was in town touring with the Lyceum Philharmonic Orchestra. They performed at Tuacahn (and then they went to Las Vegas, and Mesa). They do a fantastic job. His group of about 75 high school kids all came  and attended church at our ward on Easter Sunday. We got to take Alex for a few hours while he was here, and we took him hiking to what we call "Flag Mountain" Then he went to Beehive Homes and performed for his great grandma and the residents there. He is a very talented young musician!! It was fun spending time with just him this time.

Lilly's 1st Birthday - March 28th, 2013

It is hard to believe that Lilly turned one. She has gone from a little 4 lb preemie, to a very healthy and active 1 year old. The doctors are all surprised with how she is doing. They said she is actually more advanced than a normal 1 year old. (yes, I am a proud grandma) She has been walking for a month and can say a few words. She is such a happy little toddler now. They had 2 cakes. One for just her to destroy, and one for everyone else. She had fun opening her presents.

"Rockin Walk a Thon" March 27th, 2013

Jessica"s kids were in the school Walk a Thon today. I went to the school and went around the track a few times with each of them to support them.  Jessica pushed Lilly in the stroller. The kids got a hole punched in their card every time they made it around. They each walked/ran over 2 miles. There was fun music playing, and a lady squirting them with water to cool them off. After each grade finished, they were given drinks and fruit . It was a fun way to get the kids out moving. Izzy was visiting from Vegas, so she ran around the track with each of them, so she got a LOT of running in that day! The weather was great too!

Rocky Douglas Hawker - March 15th, 2013

Our 13th grandchild, Rocky Douglas Hawker was born on March 15th, 2013 in Las Vegas Nevada. He weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. He was 19 " long. We now have 4 grandsons. He was named after my brother David (who was called Rocky), and his grandpa Douglas. We love him and are so happy he was born healthy. Brad's family is now complete with 3 girls and 2 boys. His siblings sure love him and were so excited to get to hold him.

Day 7
This was our last day in the parks. We finally got to see Minnie Mouse. I had been telling the girls about my favorite ride for months. (We bought an extra day pass just so we could go on it.) "It's A Small World" had been closed for awhile, so they were excited to go on it. It still is my favorite, and the girls agreed it was worth the wait. In the afternoon we went and saw the play Aladdin. We ended our trip with the fantastic fireworks show over the Castle. Watching Tinkerbell fly over the castle during the fireworks was very cool. The Castle changed colors and themes for every song. We had a wonderful week, and it was so fun to share it with our 3 wonderful granddaughters. I look forward to taking the next set of grandkids when they are old enough!!!! To see all our pictures click here:
