Zion National Park- April 19th - 22nd, 2013

We went to Zion to celebrate my 59th birthday. The weather was beautiful. We did some hiking, and  drove through the tunnel. Every time we go we see something new. There is so much to see and do there. We rode the shuttle to the end and got off and hiked down for 2 hours. We stopped and watched 9 mountain climbers climbing up the sheer wall. (if you click and enlarge the picture, you can see them on the wall!) They actually sleep overnight there on the side of the mountain. After we came home, we went to Jessica's and she had a cake for me. It was a great weekend.

Rocky's Blessing Day- April 14th, 2013

MaKayla's 18th birthday is today, and so we celebrated that, and Rocky's blessing the same weekend. That way people only had to travel once. He looked so cute in his little white tuxedo. Doug had the privilege of giving the actual blessing. His name is Rocky Douglas Hawker. After church, we all went back to Brad's house and had a big buffet. We are so excited to have another grandson.

MaKayla is 18!!! April 14th, 2013

It is hard to believe that our oldest granddaughter MaKayla has turned 18 years old!!!! She is such an awesome example to the rest of her family, and cousins. She loves horses, soccer, her friends, etc. She has done well in school, and she is strong in her faith. She is very obedient, and treats others with respect. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect granddaughter. She has turned into such a beautiful young woman. I hope all her hopes for the future come true. She is ready to move on tho the next phase in her life!

Free Fishing Derby - April 6th, 2013

Every year St. George has a Fishing Derby. We took the grandkids again this year. It is right by our house. They all caught quite a few fish. Mandi was upset that she didn't win any of the free prizes like last year, but they all had a good time. A volunteer helped Sam the whole time, which was kind of nice, because that gave Doug more time to help the girls.
