Christmas 2014

It was a great Christmas season. I loved all the time spent with family, going to programs, decorating, shopping, etc. My favorite gifts were homemade cards/ letters from Emily & Mandi. The grandkids performed on Christmas Eve, and it was great. Of course, it wouldn't be traditional if we didn't give them all new P.J's!!! We missed Scott's and Tonya's family this year, but we Skyped and talked on the phone.  I gave all our kids, and Doug, photo blankets with pictures of their lives on them. We went to Brad's & Jessica's on Christmas day and watched them open gifts. Justin made Lilly a darling pink Toddler bed. Stephanie & Brad had us over for a yummy ham dinner. It was great!  I can't believe another year has come and gone!

Temple Square - December 6th, 2014

We decided to take a weekend trip to Salt Lake to see the Christmas lights at Temple Square. We stayed at Scott & Luann's house. Sam has so much fun gathering the eggs. He thought it was so cool. We spent the day touring Temple Square and shopping downtown at the City Center. It was decorated so beautiful for the holidays. The store front windows at Macy's were the kids favorite, that, and riding the escalators. They couldn't get enough of them. We took a 5 minute ride on TRAX so they could see what that was like.

Chimney Sweep - November 29th, 2014

Here is our Chimney Sweep (Doug) cleaning out our fireplace flu so we can be safe and ready for lots of warm, cozy fires this winter!!!

New Fireplace! November 20-25th, 2015

We decided that after 24 years, we needed to update the fireplace. The white mantle, and white tile with blue flowers, just didn't match the rest of the room anymore. We hired our friend Steve Smith, and he did a great job. He helped me pick out the glass tiles for the insert. We painted the wall a light brown (after trying a lot of different colors), and then we painted the mantle dark brown (also after,  I think 6 different colors) It makes the room look totally different!

Happy Birthday Ali! - November 5th, 2014

Today is Ali's 12th birthday. She is growing into a beautiful young women. We all got together for cake and presents. She was happy that she got the camera, and clothes she was hoping for. She is excited to have a friend party on Saturday.

Sedona - Day 3 - November 2nd, 2014

It was pouring all morning, so we waited for it to clear up and then we did more hiking.  It was Kevin's 40th birthday, so that night we went out to a nice restaurant for dinner.

Sedona - Day 2 - November 1st, 2014

Today we spent the day hiking. Sedona is beautiful, and has hundreds of trails to choose from.

That night, we went into town to celebrate "The Day Of The Dead" People fill a jar with a lighted candle, and write the name of a deceased person, and a message if they wish. There are all kinds of street people performing. It was cool seeing other cultures holidays.
