Balloon Festival in Mesquite - January 25th, 2014

We took Ali, Mandi, & Sam to Mesquite to the Balloon Festival. We tried last year but it was cancelled due to fog. This year it was very cold and windy, but at least the balloons took off. There were over 25 balloons. The kids liked watching the balloons fill up and take off.

Fleece Pillows - January 24th, 2014

I bought some fleece and decided to see how easy it would be to make "no sew" pillows. I had the kids cut all the strips and tie them together. They did a good job. By trial and error, we found out that a solid pillow works better than trying to use loose batting. It was a very fun activity.

Bubbles!!! January 22nd, 2014

We had Lilly here for a few hours, and she was fascinated by popping bubbles. She was having so much fun jumping on them, and chasing them around.

Gilbert Arizona Temple - January 18th, 2014

We drove to Phoenix to visit Tonya & Kevin. While we were there, we all went to the open house for the new Gilbert Temple. It is vert beautiful inside and out. We have been watching it being built for over 3 years, and I was very glad we could attend the open house!!

Hiking to "Castle Rock" January 11th, 2014

Doug and I went out hiking. It was a beautiful January day here in St. George. Sunny skies and warm weather. It took us a few hours to reach "Castle Rock". When we got there I could not go up to the top. I sat on a steep ledge and cried in fear. Doug helped me down a little ways, and then he went up to the top. We love hiking and hope to do a lot more this year.
