It was a beautiful sunny day for a race. I haven't been able to race for 2 years now because of my hurt shins and achilles heel problems. I started running again a couple months ago. I decided it was time to try for another race. The course started out in Washington Fields at Staheli Farms (dairy farm), and was very flat, so I hoped I could run it in under 40 minutes. I came in at 37:11, and I took 2nd place for my age division!!!! (55-59 year old women) I was trying to keep it at 12 minute miles, so I was pretty close. Stephanie ran the half marathon and she did awesome. (and that was after bruising her tailbone earlier this week) The excitement at the finish line always gets your adrenalin pumping. It is cool to see family and friends there cheering you on. I hope there are more races in my future.
