While we were at Scott's house, the kids went out back and were playing with the chickens. They also gathered up some fresh eggs. Mandi didn't want to hold them. She was in the house playing with Andrea!
Timpanogos Cave - August 29th, 2015 (Afternoon)
We had been planning this hike for a long time, but we finally made it. We went with Scott, Luann, grandkids, and Luann's dad Mike. It was the last outing we were going on before Alex left for college the next day. It was a special hike because we were the only people in our tour group. Our guide was great with the kids. He let them lead the way in parts of the cave. It is an awesome cave to visit. The hike was steep, and we went slow, but it was all worth it. It was a fun afternoon.
Museum Of Ancient Life - August 29th, 2015 (Morning)
We took Ali, Mandi, and Sam and drove to Scott's house for the weekend. We had a lot of fun. In the morning we went to the Museum of Ancient Life. It is one of the largest Dinosaur exhibits in the Western U.S. The kids had fun digging for bones, learning about ancient life, etc. One of the workers gave each of the kids a bag of dirt with a piece of a real dinosaur bone in it!
Helen Boberg's Funeral - August 22nd, 2015
Mom had a stroke in the early morning of August 16th. She never recovered from it, and it was an awful 6 days. We all came and sat with her, and tried to make her comfortable. It was hard saying goodbye. She had already planned her funeral years ago, so we honored her wishes. The funeral was very beautiful. The whole family participated in the talks, music, casket bearers, etc. At the graveside, we had bagpipes playing Amazing Grace. It was her final wish. Mom had lived here in St George for 16 years. It is still hard when I drive by Beehive homes where she lived for the last 8 years. I am so used to stopping to visit her. I know she is happy to be in Heaven with her loved ones. Her funeral was held on what would have been her 63rd wedding anniversary, so I am sure her and dad were celebrating!!
Boating at Lake Powell - August 8th, 2015
While we were in Page for Izzy's birthday, we loaded up the boat and drove to Antelope Marina, which is 15 minutes from Brad's house. We set up the shade canopy and spent the day boating, relaxing, eating, wakeboarding, skiing, etc. They have a big tube, and everyone had fun riding on it.
Izzy's 12th Birthday, August 2015
Izzy lives in Page Arizona now, and her 12th birthday happened to be the 1st day of school for her Junior High year. We brought MaKayla and Mandi and came 2 days after her birthday to celebrate with her. I have been waiting for a couple months to give her her present. She has always told me she wanted to play the guitar, but I waited till she was older, and was going to give her mine. But I found out it was too big for her, so we got one her size. At the time, I didn't know she had signed up to play the guitar in school this year, and she asked if I could bring mine until she could get one. When we got here, she asked me where it was, and I pretended that I forgot it. She was a kittle upset, but when she opened her present and saw it was a guitar, she was so excited. I can't wait to hear her learn to play!!!
Children's Museum - August 6th, 2015
The children's Museum has a few new exhibits, so we took the grandkids there for a few hours. There is a Frozen room now, and they had fun playing in there. Ali was too old, and quite bored, but she was a good sport and helped Lilly do things. Mandi liked the round electricity orb.
