Nascar Truck Races - September 30th, 2017

We had a great time at the Nascar truck races in Vegas tonight. It was Sam's first time going and he loved it. Doug took him down under the road to the pits, so he could see the cars, etc. The fireworks were pretty cool after!!

Andy's Baptism & Birthday - September 24th, 2017

Doug and I had the privilege of going to Page for Andy's baptism. He turned 8 on Sunday, and was baptized the same day. His mom made him an awesome Lego Batman cake. It was a special day!!!

Cheerleading - September 22nd, 2017

We drove to Page and went to the Page High School football game. It was cold and windy, but we finally got to watch Izzy cheerleading. And Emily performed at half time with her dance team. (I had a hard time getting a good picture because of the bright lights on the field)

Grand Canyon - September 8-9th, 2017

Tonya and Kevin met us at the South rim of the Grand Canyon. We stayed in Yavapai Lodge. We hiked and explored for 2 days. It was very cool to see the clouds come in and cover the whole canyon. We also saw a few Elk. I had fun learning to use my new Selfie stick!!

Williams Arizona - September 7th, 2017

After we left Havasupai, we stayed in Williams for a night. We stayed at The Grand Canyon Hotel. It is the oldest hotel in Arizona. They said the King of Siam has stayed there. Then we toured a few of the old route 66 shops!

Mooney Falls, Havasu Falls, Beaver Falls - September 5-6th, 2017

The falls were all so beautiful. We went with Brad and Stephanie and 4 of their friends. We sent our packs down on the mules to make the hike easier. But it was still so hard. The water was very refreshing to play in. We had to hike down through an opening in the rocks, and hold on to some very slippery chains to get to Mooney Falls. Brad had to help me each step. It was so scary. Each of the falls were so different. We hung our food up in rat sacks to keep the critters out of it. We had freeze dried meals. The last morning Doug and I took the  helicopter out because we couldn't hike the steep 10 miles back out of the canyon. If I was younger I would do this again. It was worth every painful step.

Supai Village - September 5 - 6th, 2017

We hiked with Brad and Stephanie, and their friends 10 miles down to Supai Village campground. This was our sweet camping spot. We haven't slept in a tent for over 20 years. We were so exhausted from hiking so many miles that we just crashed and were sound asleep by 7:30 or 8 at night. It had a beautiful turquoise stream right beside us that we could hear. Very relaxing.

Route 66 - September 4th, 2017

On our way to Havasu Falls we took the old Route 66 through Hackberry, and stopped at this tourist stop. Doug took lots of pictures of old cars out back, but they didn't save them on his phone for some reason. He loved all the old gas pumps and signs. We actually bought a sign for our new office at work!!
