New Years Eve - December 31st, 2020

Scott, Luann and the girls came or New Years Eve. We had a chili dinner, and then played games. At midnight we blew horns and went outside and watched some cool fireworks going off all around the neighborhood! It was a great way to end the year!

New Couches - Dec. 26th, 2020

We started looking for new leather couches in April. We had 2 different ones picked out and when they came we didn't like them, or they were very uncomfortable. We finally ordered some Lazy Boy in August. After 18 weeks they finally arrived. (1 day late for Christmas...) They are very soft. They are darker than I thought from the sample in the store, but we will get used to the color. We are going to buy new TV blankets, and table runners with some color, so it won't look so brown in the family room!!

Christmas Eve 2020

Jessica, Justin, and family came to dinner. So did Preston and Ali. Then they opened our gifts to them. We had a small program. Justin sang Silent Night in Russian. Lilly read a flannelboard story of the Nativity. Of course we ended the evening with opening new Christmas pajamas! After they left, we cleaned up and watched The Nutcracker ballet.

Christmas Decorations! - December 2020

We didn't put up as many decorations this year. It is getting harder for Doug to climb on the roof, and because of Covid, no one is traveling, so we decided not to put up as many as usual. The house still looked like Christmas though. I put out my 40 plus Nativities for a weekend, but then took most of them down because it looked too cluttered. I love it at night when all the twinkly lights shine throughout the house.

Leaves, Leaves, Leaves - December 5th, 2020

We had Sam and Lilly come and help us 2 different weekends. They had fun blowing, and raking the leaves. We have so many. We have raked for 6 weekends total. This is getting to be too much yard work, but it was nice having them come and help. I think they had a lot of fun playing in the leaves!!

49th Wedding Anniversary (Thanksgiving) - November 26th, 2020

We celebrated our 49th anniversary today. It is also Thanksgiving. We had Jessica's family here for dinner. Because of Covid, we had to keep our gathering small this year. After dinner, we took a few family pictures, and then played a fun drawing game. It was a great day.

Pomegranates - November 14th, 2020

Doug and I picked all the pomegranates, and then Mandi and MaKayla helped us get the seeds out. It was a messy job. With their help, it only took a couple hours to do 1 box. (We sold the rest of them). Then Doug and I juiced them and got 11 quarts of juice. It is in the freezer for now. Sometime next year, I will make it into jelly!!
