Halloween Costumes 2022

This was the last year for Lilly's parade at school. The grandkids are growing up too fast. I did get pictures of some of their costumes. Doug and I even dressed up this time in our Hippie Costumes!! We had a few trick or treaters.

Carving Pumpkins - Oct. 30th, 2022

I have been a Halloween grinch for the past few years. It is just not as fun with no little kids living here. But this year I decided to not use our fake plastic Jack O Lantern. On Saturday, we drove around to all the stores and realized all the pumpkins were gone. We finally decided to try Frei's Fruit stand, and they still had a few. After church on Sunday, MaKayla came over and we carved our pumpkins. It was kind of fun! They turned out pretty good!!

Las Vegas - Oct. 27-28th, 2022

Beth and Dave were in Las Vegas for a work convention, and they stayed an extra 2 days, so we went to visit them. We stayed at Ceasar's Palace. The first day we walked to the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat, and then the Bellagio to the conservatory. It is always decorated so beautifully. We walked a lot of miles to see a lot of the casinos. My hips and knee were worn out. We ate some yummy food and had a good visit with them! (I don't really like being in Las Vegas because it stinks like drugs, and is pretty dirty, and there are a lot of immoral people there. I only went to see Beth, but I don't want to go back again)

The next day we went to the Venetian and rode the canal boats.

The last night we took a taxi to the Luxor and saw The America's Got Talent show. It was fun seeing some of the acts we had only seen on TV over the past few years.

Planting Pansies - October 20th, 2022

My favorite flower of all time is the purple pansy with the yellow in the middle. Today, I pulled out all the old flowers that were dying, and planted over 120 pansies. They usually stay alive in the winter here, and they will be beautiful in the spring. They don't survive the hot summer, but I enjoy them while I can.

Scarecrow Walk - October 17th, 2022

The Red Hills Desert Garden transformed into a Scarecrow Walk for October. There were almost 50 displays all around in the gardens. We went before dusk. They were pretty amazing. When it got dark we saw a few again and they looked totally different in the dark. It is a fun and free activity for all ages!

Nascar Race - Oct. 16th, 2022

We were given tickets again this year for the race in Las Vegas. MaKayla came with us. We invited Ellie but she had to work. We had good seats. My M and M car didn't win, but it was still fun. There were a few small crashes but nothing serious!
