Christmas Gift - Dec. 28th, 2022

Scott gave Doug this awesome chess set for Christmas this year! He made the board and all the pieces. He gave him the board a few years ago and this week he got all the finished pieces. There is so much detail in every piece. I don't know how he can paint all the detail on such tiny miniatures. It comes with this awesome carrying case. Now Doug and I need to remember how to play chess. It has been a LOT of years since I played. I remember playing in elementary school during lunch. Scott is very talented. He has glass cases full of miniatures, dragons, swords, etc.

Christmas Decorations - Dec. 2022

This year we didn't put out as many decorations as usual. We decided to simplify. I only had 4 of my almost 50 Nativities out. This is the first year Doug didn't hang lights on the outside. It was a little sad not doing it all, but now that December is almost over, it will be a lot easer to clean up.

'57 Chevy Bel Air - December 26th, 2022

I am so proud of Doug. He had been saving up our whole married life to buy a car and restore it. 2 and 1/2 years ago he bought this old '57 Chevy Bel Air. I could not picture the finished product and was worried it would never get done. Well, today, after 2 years, and over 600 hours, he finally finished it and drove it home. The only thing he had help with was the sandblasting . EVERYTHING else he did himself. He totally gutted it and started from there. We have over 200 pictures of the whole process from day 1 until today. The one thing that is not original to the car is that he added A/C so I would ride in it. I think he did a fantastic job!

Christmas Eve - Dec. 24th, 2022

We had Jessica's family come over for Christmas Eve. We had a yummy ham dinner. Then we did our program. Sam and Lilly read some stories, and Jessica's family did the Nativity flannel board story. We sang some Christmas songs and opened pajamas. They opened the gifts we gave to them. Scott's family Face Timed, and they played Christmas songs for us. Our neighbors came by caroling. It was a great evening! (I added the picture of Brad's family in their pajamas. I got it off Stephanie's post)

Page, Arizona - Dec. 21-22nd, 2022

We decided to make a trip to see Brad's family and drop of gifts. It was fun seeing their house all decorated for Christmas. Doug taught Emily how to make Divinity. It turned out great! We played games and then they surprised the kids with an early present. Brad got home with it at 11 pm. They were so excited. It is a Honda Talon side by side. They took us out for a ride the next day before we drove home. I was afraid it would roll over, but it is built with roll bars, etc. I ended up having fun riding in it. It will be a lot of fun for their family!

Red Hills Desert Gardens - December 19th, 2022

Doug and I drove to the Red Hulls Desert Gardens, and walked through it. (It is the same one that we went to for Halloween) It was all decorated with tons of beautiful Christmas light. They looked so pretty reflecting in the water. It really is a magical place.

Springville - December 16-18th, 2022

We took a quick weekend trip to Scott's house to deliver gifts. The snow was so beautiful. They had a lot. It made it feel like Christmas time for once. Luann had made them all new stocking to hang over the fireplace. Their house was very festive! We were able to go to Andrea's dance performance at the mall. She did a great job. We took her and Gwyneth shopping to pick out their own presents. They got some warm Ponchos, and a few other things. Gwyneth gave us some pottery she had made in school. We played games, watched movies, and had some yummy meals. Ellie brought her new boyfriend Ruston over so we could meet him. They got all dressed up to go to a Ball. She seems very happy.
