This afternoon we loaded the RV and drove to Pine Valley. We invited the neighbor kids and their mom. Emme, and Zeke had never been fishing, and they had so much fun. They stayed for the afternoon, and then before they left, we had hot dogs and S'mores for dinner. It was fun seeing their excitement.
Doug and I got up early and went hiking out in Ivins, and finally found some Tortoises. We saw 3 large ones. We found a few of their dens. They were so fun to watch. Now that we know where to go, we hope to find more next year!
While in Springville, we celebrated the 3 May birthdays. Scott, Ellie, and Andrea. We had a barbque and then opened presents.
In the afternoon, we went to the Springville Art Museum. I love all the artwork there. Here are a few of my favorite pieces.
While we were in the area for graduation, we bought some mums and went to Draper to visit my brother Davids grave. We also saw my grandparents, and some great great grandparents graves. Then we went to Larkin to Doug and Normas graves, and also grandma Lloyds. I am glad for our belief in the here after, so we can see them again. We also visited my parents graves when we got back in town.
After Andrea's Graduation, we went to the Mystery Escape Room. We did the Ex Caliber Sword in the Stone room. It was kind of challenging. There was an actor in the room, and without his help, I don't think we would have escaped in time. He gave us a lot of hints. The picture said we made it in 59 minutes and 59 seconds, but I'm pretty sure he added a couple of minutes on to our time. It was fun trying to figure out the clues.
We drove to Springville today to attend Andrea's high school graduation from Springville High School. She is the last of Scott's kids to graduate. It was a nice short ceremony. We took pictures after, and went back to their house for food and gifts. We gave her a set of luggage. Luann had everyone make something special to put on the Lei she made for Andrea. Doug put a little wrench, we gave her an ornament that we had made of our RV she has gone camping in. And from both of us, we had little life story books made and it was full of 72 pictures of us and Andrea. It was so cute!
I love our backyard. Sometimes I just sit out there and admire all the work we have put into it. We spend a lot of time trying to keep it nice. It is so peaceful early in the mornings. That is what I will probably miss the most if we ever need to move.
Doug had his appointment today to start getting 2 teeth implants. Before they could do it he had to have a sinus lift and bone graft. He said it was very painful. His whole side of his face was bruised. He cant bend, use a straw, or lift anything heavy for the next couple of weeks.
Doug and I have been saying we wanted to rent E Bikes and try them out, so for my Mother's Day present, he rented them for us. We rented them for 2 hours. It took a little getting used to how they worked, and I had trouble going up hills for the first little while. We practiced in the parking lot and then rode to our house. Then we went all over on the bike trails near our house. By the end of the 2 hours, we were ready to return them because our buts were getting sore. It was a lot of fun. IF we ever decide to buy them, we would get them made for our size, and with way softer seats!!
Doug entered the car show in Page Arizona again this year. We stayed at Brad's house. Tonya and Kevin drove up from Phoenix. Kevin had never seen the '57 Chevy before, and he was very happy to be able to drive it.
