These are some pictures of Amelia this month. She is growing stronger every day. We go visit her at the hospital every weekend (except when we got sick...) At 5 weeks old she weighed 3 Lb 14 Oz. MaKayla had her baby shower on August 17th, but I couldn't go because I had Covid. I was able to watch it online. I was very sad that I had to miss it. She got a lot of nice things. Doug and I, and her grandpa Bill (and grandma Cindy) went in on a gift together. We got them the stroller and carseat they wanted. At 8 weeks old Amelia weighed 5 Lb 5 Oz. She still has a feeding tube in, and is on Oxygen, but is doing great.
Freezer Meals - August 26th, 2024
Doug and I decided a way we could help MaKayla with the new baby was to make her some freezer meals that she could throw in the crockpot on busy days. We knew Amelia would be coming home from the hospital soon, and this is a way we could help out. We spent a few days finding recipes that they would like, and then we went to the store and bought all the ingredients we would need. We decided to make some for us at the same time. I ordered some stands and reusable freezer bags and they made it a lot easier. It was kind of fun. I really appreciated all Dougs help. We spent a few hours on Sunday and Monday and put them all together. In total we made 18 meals.
Camping - August 18th, 2024
We went to Pine Valley. It poured when we got there, but that cooled it way down. We fished and only caught one each. The next morning we hiked to the end of the trail and back down. It was so peaceful. We fished and played a few games. It was too hot in the afternoon to be in the trailer. We ran the A/C for hours. We should not come in August. Our WiFi doesn't work well in #9 spot. Too many trees. It is so pretty here, but the heat makes it kind of miserable.
Puzzle - July 5th - August 17th, 2024
We got this "LOVE" puzzle from Izzy for Christmas. It is one of the hardest puzzles we have ever done. It took us 6 weeks. We could have never done it if we didn't have the picture of the words to look at. To do the black pieces, we had to just try and fit the pieces into each space until we found the right one. I got frustrated and Doug did a lot of this by himself. It was fun though to read the sayings!!!
First Day Of School - August 2024
Stephanie and Jessica sent me pictures of the kids 1st day of school. Brads kids started on August 5th, and Jessicas on August 12th. These are the only grandkids that are still in school. Everyone is growing up so fast.
