Camping with Scott's Family - May 26-30th, 2025

Scott, Luann, Gwyneth, and Andrea met us in Pine Valley for 4 days. We stayed in the Dean Gardner campground. We had a great time fishing (we caught over 100 fish total between all of us), going on walks, eating good food and playing games. The weather was perfect. They went down to Veyo for some ice, and bought a famous Veyo pie. It was delicious!

Amelia 11 Months Old - May 30th, 2025

Amelia is now 11 months old. She has learned how to crawl. It's more like a walk/crawl. She can say DaDa. She loves to eat all kinds of food. She has a walker and goes all over their new apartment. She still doesn't have any teeth. Her hair is starting to grow a little...She is a very happy and smiley baby. I tend her once a week for 6 hours. She takes good long naps.

May Birthdays - 2025

Luann sent me some pictures of their May birthdays. We gave Ellie a hoodie blanket, and Scott and Andrea Star Wars Lego sets.  (I didn't get any pictures of them opening the Lego's)

Desert Tortoises - May 17th, 2025

Doug and I went out to Ivins to the Berm Trail. We went to see how many tortoises we could find. We went a couple weeks ago and didn't see any. This time we were lucky and we saw 11 of them. They were all sizes. Some were next to the trail, but most were off near the bushes and small hills. We videoed a couple of them. It was fun watching them walk to find food to eat. They move faster than I thought. They like to eat the desert plants. This time I was actually able to walk 1.8 miles before my back and foot started to hurt. This is the time of the year when they are out the most!

The Dragon Tail Staircase - May 9th, 2025

Emily and Rocky came to town for the day, so we took them to climb the staircase. They ran all the way down, and most of the way back up. It is 333 stairs each way. Rocky ran all the way. I took a video of him with the soundtrack from the "Rocky" movies. It was cool watching him run up!!!

Route 66 Fun Run Car Show - May 2-4th, 2025

Tonya and Kevin invited us to go to Kingman Az. to one of the biggest car shows around. We stayed in a rental house that had a fishing pond out back. It was in a very secluded place outside of Kingman. Doug and I fished while we waited for them to get there from Phoenix. We didn't see or catch any fish. The next morning we drove 10 minutes to town and spent the next 3 hours watching the 800 classic cars arriving for the car show. They had all come from Seligman, which was 87 miles away, and after Kingman, they all drive through to California. The cars line up all over town in front of the stores, etc. It took a few hours to walk around and see all the cars. (My back was hurting really bad, and so I had to stop  and sit a lot on the benches, while Doug , Tonya, and Kevin looked at all the cars.)  There were some really nice ones. I think that maybe next year Doug will enter his '57 Chevy in the show.. It will be the 100 year anniversary of  Route 66.

Sam's 17th Birthday - May 1st, 2025

Sam turned 17 today. We all went to Sakura for dinner and then to their house for cake and presents. For part of his present, I took him to get a much needed haircut! He still didn't go short, but it looks a lot better.
