Halloween - October 31st, 2025

I don't have many pictures anymore on Halloween because everyone is older and most don't live close by. It is sad. I miss the old days when all the kids went trick or treating., and we went to the school parades. Now, hardly anyone comes by. And it is mostly old kids we don't even know. I did get a couple of pictures of Sam and his friends, and MaKayla and Kolten brought Amelia. She was a bat. She got some candy out of the bucket and wouldn't even let me take the wrapper off of it. Tonya sent me a few pictures of her and Kevin. They were the Wolf/Granny and Little Red Riding Hood.

Amelia - 16 Months Old - October 30th, 2025

Amelia is 16 months old. She is growing ip so fast now. She can walk all over. She likes to go outside and touch the flowers and chase her shadow. She is getting into all the cupboards and shelves she can reach. She eats pretty much everything we give her. They bought her a toddler carseat, and she cried the first time she used it. We got her a few new toys that she likes to play with. She tries to stack things up. She had to have a laser surgery to fix the thing above her top lip. She did really well. I wont be able to watch her for 6 weeks because I can't lift her. I will miss her a lot. MaKayla says they will still come on Wed for dinner so we can see her. Here are some random pictures of her this month.

The Gardens - October 29th, 2025

It has been 2 days since my surgery. I am feeling pretty good. The horrible pain is gone. My back still hurts, but I can walk a lot better now. I am not taking any pain pills. I am supposed to walk a little every day, so Doug took me to "The Gardens" by the Dixie Rock. We walked through and saw it decorated for Halloween. I walked 4/10 of a mile. I had to sit down a few times, but it was nice to get out.

Back Surgery - October 27th, 2025

I had back surgery. Dr. Bishop was my surgeon. The procedure has a long fancy name, but basically he went in and cleaned out a bulging disc that was pressing on my nerve. The surgery took a couple of hours. He told Doug that it went well. I just need to not bend, lift, or twist for 6 weeks. So basically Doug is doing all the housework, and laundry, dishes etc. again, like after my other surgeries. He is amazing. Last night, MaKayla brought me these beautiful purple roses. I thought they were fake, but they are just spray painted. I love them.

Phoenix - October 17- 20th, 2025

We drove to Phoenix for the weekend. When we got there we had a yummy spaghetti dinner and then we drove in Tonya's new jeep with the top down and drove to see lots of Halloween decorations. Here, whole neighborhoods decorate together. I didn't get any cool pictures of the decorated yards.

The next day we went to the Phoenix Zoo! I had to rent a scooter, because my back hurt too bad to walk all around. It has gotten pretty run down since I was here 26 years ago. Also, it was hot, so the few animals there were, were all trying to hide in the shade. We still had a good time. It made me want to go to the Hogle Zoo in SLC because it has a LOT more animals, and is very well taken care of.

The last night we were there, Emily was in town for a football tournament. We all went to watch her (#2) play. They lost the first game and won the second one.
