Halloween 2013

I love the fall season. The hot summer is finally over. We went to the corn maze. The grandkids get so excited for trick or treating. It was fun watching them in the church, and school parades, and on Skype. I loved their costumes. Doug and I sat out front and had a small fire going and drank hot chocolate while we waited for the little trick or treaters to come by. We didn't have very many this year. I miss the days of taking our kids all around the neighborhood.

Pomegranate Jelly - October 17th, 2013

I finally decided to make a batch of Pomegranate Jelly. I have avoided it forever, thinking it was going to be a horrible job. I already had picked them and had the juice in the freezer, so I couldn't put it off any longer. It actually turned out to be very quick and easy, and I got almost 30 jars of the best tasting jelly ever. We had so many Pomegranates off our bush, so I ended up giving away several boxes of them to friends and neighbors.

Duck Creek - October 4-6th, 2013

We were supposed to spend the weekend in Zion, but due to the Government Shutdown, the National Parks were all closed, so we found an RV spot in Duck Creek Village. It was a beautiful fall weekend. The lake was partially frozen, but we still caught lots of fish! We hiked and took pictures of the fall colors, and  watched movies after dark. When I got in the shower the next morning, it was ice cold....our pipes had frozen during the night, and we had to wait for the sun to warm them up.
