Pine Valley - May 26th-28th, 2017

We spent 3 days in Pine Valley. The weather was great. We went Geo Caching. It was a VERY steep hike up past the cemetery to the old Pine Valley Canal. Scott found an arrowhead on the trail. The view from the top was amazing. The fishing wasn't as good as usual, but sitting by the reservoir was so peaceful. We went on a hike and saw lots of small waterfalls by the stream. We played games, ate great food. We also celebrated the 3 May birthdays we had this week!

Lilly's Pre School Graduation - May 22nd, 2017

Lilly graduated from pre school today. She was so excited to sing her songs, and show us what she had learned. Hard to believe she is ready for Kindergarten!!

Exploring - May 13th, 2017

We kept Jessica's kids for the day while she celebrated her birthday. We took them to Pine Valley fishing. It was cold in the shade, but they had fun. Then we went exploring for the rest of the day. We just turned onto a dirt road that we had not been on, and we would let them decide which direction to turn when ever we came to another road. We had a lot of fun. We found the Hamblin cemetery, and found lots of very old headstones . Some were born in the 1700's. There were a lot of children buried there. We ate our picnic on the back of the truck at the cemetery. Later on, we found a big snake crossing the road. Sam and Doug got out and followed it to it's snake hole. We saw a historical marker for the Old Spanish Trail. We ended up near Beryl, Utah. We stopped for ice cream in Enterprise. Then on the way home we stopped at The Mountain Meadow Massacre monument. They had studied it in school, but had never been there. It made for an interesting discussion. They can't wait to go exploring again. After they got home, Lilly (who is 5) told Jessica she can't wait to go on "Field Trips" with grandma and grandpa again, because it is so much fun!!!!

Visit with Meacham's - May 7th, 2017

Our great friends Robert and Joyce were traveling through from Pennsylvania. They were in Zion National Park for 1 day, so we drove there and spend the day with them. We hiked to Weeping Rock, and Emerald Pools. We stopped at most of the stops on the tram, and just looked at the beautiful scenery, and took lots of pictures. We ate at the Lodge, and had a great time catching up on the past 25 years. (It had been that long since we saw them) It was as if time had stopped and we were back where we left off. The weather was beautiful. I hope it isn't another 25 years before we meet again!!!

Sam's 9th Birthday - May 1st, 2017

Sam had his family birthday party at our house. We played yard games, had cake, ice cream, and opened presents. We gave him a fishing pole, a new fishing chair, and some bait. He got lots of Pokemon stuff which he loved.
