Exploring - May 13th, 2017

We kept Jessica's kids for the day while she celebrated her birthday. We took them to Pine Valley fishing. It was cold in the shade, but they had fun. Then we went exploring for the rest of the day. We just turned onto a dirt road that we had not been on, and we would let them decide which direction to turn when ever we came to another road. We had a lot of fun. We found the Hamblin cemetery, and found lots of very old headstones . Some were born in the 1700's. There were a lot of children buried there. We ate our picnic on the back of the truck at the cemetery. Later on, we found a big snake crossing the road. Sam and Doug got out and followed it to it's snake hole. We saw a historical marker for the Old Spanish Trail. We ended up near Beryl, Utah. We stopped for ice cream in Enterprise. Then on the way home we stopped at The Mountain Meadow Massacre monument. They had studied it in school, but had never been there. It made for an interesting discussion. They can't wait to go exploring again. After they got home, Lilly (who is 5) told Jessica she can't wait to go on "Field Trips" with grandma and grandpa again, because it is so much fun!!!!
