San Diego - Day 4 - February 16th, 2019

This morning we went on a tour of the USS Midway. It was the largest Aircraft carrier in the world until 1955. Today it is a museum. There are a lot of old planes and helicopters onboard. We got to see the sleeping quarters, and the mess hall, etc. It is like a huge city.

Tonight we drove to the Coronado Hotel. It is the second largest wooden structure in the United States. When it opened in 1888, it was the single largest resort hotel in the world. It has hosted presidents, royalty, and celebrities through the years. The hotel has been featured in numerous movies and books.

San Diego - Day 3 - February 15th, 2019

Today we went to Point Loma Lighthouse. I love lighthouses. We went inside. It was a beautiful place. We also went in the tide pools. Then we ate lunch at a cool place called Hodad's. They had the biggest hamburgers ever! Then we went to the Mormon Battalion museum. It was very interesting to hear all about it.

San Diego - Day 2 - February 14th, 2019

What a difference a day makes. The sun was shining. We went back to the pier and walked around. Then we went to Old Town San Diego and ate Valentine's dinner at a yummy Mexican restaurant.

San Diego - Day 1 - February 13th, 2019

We drove to San Diego with our friends Bob and Jeannine. We went a day early because of severe weather coming in to California. When we got here, it was cold and rainy. It was also very windy. We walked to the pier, but could barely see it because of the storm. I hope the weather gets better. You can see the ocean from our rental house.

Skylight Arch - February 9th 2019

While in Page visiting Brad's family, we went exploring to Skylight Arch, and Alstrom Point. It took us awhile to find the Arch. I didn't realize I was standing on it at first, or I would have been terrified. It is quite a drop off. Then we drove forever to Alstrom point. It was fun letting Snoop Dog out and watching him chase the car. He loved it. We also let the kids out and they ran along side of the car. It was a fun day!

Sam and Wolfgang - January 25-26th, 2019

Sam and his friend Wolfgang stayed overnight. We took them to see "The Sword in the Stone" movie. The next morning they helped us do some yard work (they climbed the trees...) Then we went hiking out back to Chuckwalla trail. They had a lot of fun exploring all the formations.

Exploring - January 12-13th, 2019

We took Brad's kids exploring to Warner Valley. We let the kids decide where to turn and where to end up. We stopped for lunch and went Metal Detecting. We had to back up and turn around on a very steep hill. There were a lot of bumpy roads. On Sunday, after church, we took them to the Nature park by the Dixie rock!

S'Mores - January 11th, 2019

Brad's kids were here for the weekend while the parents were in Las Vegas. We had a fun night making S'Mores in the microwave. They were a mess, but the kids loved them!!
