Hiking "The Gap"

It was a beautiful sunny day here on Saturday. The temperature was in the low 60's, so we decided to go hiking. Scott's family was down for a quick trip (he came to fix our alignment machine computer at work, but that is another story), and Brad had flown that morning and found a new trailhead we hadn't been to yet, so we went. It was about a mile from our house. I was surprised how well the little grandkids did. They were running up the mountain. When we stopped at the top, I was a little (okay..a LOT) freaked out that the kids were going to run and fall off the edge of the cliffs, but they were fine. Brad and Scott of course had to jump amd pretend to fall and give me a heart attack, but we made it. I even climbed onto a high rock formation to get a picture with Doug, I , and all the grandkids. (Sam was the only one not here.) The red cliffs against the blue sky was just awesome. We live in such a beautiful area.

We enjoyed a coming down for a change of scenery this weekend. Now we are stuck back in the great white north, inversion, smog and all. *sigh*

Thanks for a nice weekend. :)

I miss hiking in your backyard. I want to come to St.George this spring and go hiking. I love seeing your pictures of Zion. I miss it so bad.
