It is pouring here. We drove to Richmond, Mo. to the cemetery and saw the grave site of David Whitmer. The monument for the 3 Witness was there also. (also the grave site for Bob Ford, the man who shot Jesse James) We drove around and found the site of the old jail where Joseph Smith rebuked the guards, and also the Whitmer livery stable.
We drove back to Liberty and toured the Liberty Jail where Joseph Smith and 5 other men were imprisoned for 4 months. (the jail is a replica built on the spot where the original jail was) They were there in the winter. It would have been cold and cramped. Some of the men were taller than the ceiling, and couldn't stand up all that time. Then we drove to the site for the Eight Witness monument. It was in a very secluded spot. It was very peaceful there.
We drove to Breckenridge to the city park where they have placed the original mill stone from the Haun's Mill massacre.
As we were driving, we drove through a lot of old run down falling apart towns. This one was very creepy.
Next we drove to Adam ondi Ahman. It was kind of foggy because of the rain. It is a very pretty place. Then we drove for 4 hours through some of the prettiest country we have seen. There were rolling green hills everywhere. The neighborhoods are so different from ours. There are no fences, and the houses are blocks apart. We drove through some Amish towns and we saw a few horse and buggies.
