Switzerland - Day # 7 (Part 2) October 5th, 2024

Part 2... After the Matterhorn we took the train down the mountain and switched trains to the Glacier Express. We then went on an 8 hour ride through the alps from Zermatt to St. Moritz. It was a long ride, but the scenery was so beautiful. We crossed over 291 bridges, and through 91 tunnels. There were so many lakes, waterfalls, and mountain ridges, and hundreds of small villages. Most of them had a chapel with a large steeple, and a cemetery surrounding them. There were green , green rolling hills everywhere. Lots of cows with bells hanging around their necks. We had a fun time relaxing and visiting everyone from our group. We were the only ones in that train section. I ordered a hot chocolate. (I did this in every city) It always came with a glass of warm milk, and then you poured the hot chocolate pack in and stirred it. Each city had a different tasting chocolate. When we checked into our hotel, the Crystal Hotel, we all met for dinner and they served us Rizotto.?? It is rice in a sauce of some kind, and some fresh bread. It was something new we had never eaten. We only had about an hour to walk around some of the shops, but everything was closed by then, so we just looked in windows. All the stores here are very high end stores. (In every city, or village, we noticed they close early every night, and EVERYTHING is closed on Sundays.) This was the only hotel that still used a real key!!!
